Exercise Classes

All classes are specially designed for the over 50s. 
All levels & abilities are welcome and all classes provide full adaptability and modifications for health conditions, disabilities and beginners.

Cardio Classes

Circuits

A circuit style class with individual cardio and weighted exercise stations. Each exercise is performed for a short period of time before moving around the room to complete the full circle. 

Quick Burn

A 30 minute express cardio class designed for burning calories and keeping your heart
and lungs healthy.

Weight Loss Bootcamp

This is a beginner class and is a one way ticket to dropping the pounds. Primarily a cardio class, with a short weighted section designed to lose weight and tone up.

Strength

Beginners Weight Training

Learn the fundamental principles of weight training, techniques of exercises and how to maximise the many benefits of weight training in a safe, beginner friendly environment.

Pump & Tone

This exercise class is for all levels, involving light weights and high repetitions to tone the body.

Legs, Bums & Tums

Specifically designed to tone up your core and lower body, it is a combination of resistance training exercises targeting
legs, glutes and core to tighten
up those abs!

Senior Strength

Mandatory gym introduction with the fitness coordinator including a medical health questionnaire and discussion about your health and fitness related goals, demonstration on how to use the fitness equipment properly and the offer of a custom written exercise programme.

Mind & Body

Pilates

A fun and focused Pilates class for intermediate level, ideal for developing a strong core and improving overall flexibility, muscle strength, co-ordination and balance.

Seated Yoga

A gentle yoga where postures are practiced while seated or with the aid of a chair.

Qigong

The grandmother of Tai Chi, this is a gentle form of exercise incorporating movement, breath work and self massage. Good for improving circulation, flexibility, balance and stress levels.

Beginners Pilates

A contemporary, fun and focused Pilates class. It is multi-level and fantastic for developing a strong core and improving overall flexibility, muscle strength, co-ordination and balance.

Traditional Yoga

A gentle yoga focusing on slow, steady movements. Enjoy stretching the body and finding stillness of mind.

Dance

Zumba Gold

Feel empowered and have fun with easy to follow Zumba choreography at a lower intensity.

Super Six

Healthy Joints

A specific fitness class designed around the national guidelines for Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoporosis. 

Movement for the Mind

A specific fitness class designed around the national guidelines for mild to moderate Depression and Anxiety.

Breath Better

A specific fitness class designed around the national guidelines for mild COPD and mild to moderate Asthma.

Chair Based Exercise

A seated fitness class with a variety of exercises including flexibility, muscle strengthening and heart and lung function.

Slow & Steady Mobility

The next step up from a chair based class providing an evenly balanced and easy to perform standing workout. Involving cardio, mobility, strength and flexibility at a slower and steadier pace.

Fit with Diabetes

A specific fitness class designed around the national guidelines for Diabetes Type 1 and 2.

On Saturdays

Pure Stretch

A calm, relaxing and revitalising full body stretching class suited to all levels. Starting Saturday 2nd September 2023 at 9.15am.
